Sometimes you only want one bit, like the twenty seconds where the dog does the thing. You don't have to export the whole Tape for that.
Individual recordings can be saved straight to your Photos library, and because there's nothing to build first, it's quick.
Saving one recording
Press and hold the Tape and choose Manage Recordings.
Find the recording you want.
Tap Play first if you're not sure which one it is.
Choose Export to Photos.
iOS asks permission the first time you save anything to your library.
It appears in Photos, in your Recents.
This one has no date stamp
The Export with Timestamp setting applies to exporting a whole Tape. A single recording saved this way is exported exactly as filmed.
Which one should I use?
- Export one recording
- Quick, no date stamp. Best for sending someone a moment.
- Export the Tape
- The complete memory as one video, with the date stamp if you've turned it on. Best for keeping and for handing on.
Tips
Want it shorter? Export it, then trim the copy in the Photos app. Videflo never trims, so the recording in the Tape stays whole.
Saving a recording to Photos doesn't remove it from the Tape. You end up with two copies, which is rather the point.
Troubleshooting
Export to Photos is greyed out or missing.
- Check the recording isn't marked unavailable. A recording with no file on this phone and no finished copy in Videflo Cloud can't be exported.
It says permission was denied.
- Turn on Settings → Videflo → Photos, then try again.
Frequently asked
Does exporting a recording delete it from the Tape?
No. It makes a copy; the Tape is unchanged.
Can I export several recordings at once?
Not in one go. They're exported one at a time. To get everything together, export the whole Tape instead.
Can I export a recording somebody else added to a Shared Tape?
Export to Photos is offered for every recording you can play, so yes. It's part of the Tape you're on. Exporting the whole Tape in one go is for the owner only.
